IRAN

Iranian Hard-Liner Wins
Tehran's hard-line conservative mayor has defeated his moderate challenger in the Iranian presidential election. By acting merely as a puppet for Iran's religious leaders, he's expected to reverse democratic reforms, reduce women's rights, and serve as a new role model for Bill Frist.

Reformers Reel
Iran's more moderate politicians have been soundly defeated by the election of an ultra-conservative to the presidency. Now they'll have to abandon their idealistic dreams of giving westerners blindfolds before they're beheaded.

Israel urges harder int'l line towards Iran

"Faced with the Iranian nuclear threat, the international community must, more than before, formulate a unified and stern policy towards Iran," Shalom told reporters.   Israel said last month that it expected Iran to have the technological know-how within six to nine months to build nuclear bombs.

Bombing the crap out of Iran: It adds up

How is Tuesday and the bombing of Iran linked?

Will Israel launch against Iran on Tuesday?

READER  SUBMISSION  TO  WRH

WRH  COMMENTS:   RAMIFICATIONS: Israel attacking the Iranian reactors by itself would not justify US war with Iran. One of two things would have to follow. The whole point of Israel attacking the reactors would be to goad Iran into a declaration of war against Israel. This means Iran's ground forces would have to march through the US forces in place in Iraq to get to Israel. But, just as Saddam refused to be goaded by the bombing campaign in the months before the formal declaration of war, so too might Iran's leadership decide not to respond to the obvious provocation and instead refer the matter to the UN. IN that case, expect an "attack" against a US ship in the Mediterranean, to be blamed on Iran, using untraceable missiles purchased on the black market (such as the ones Israel was recently caught smuggling out of Columbia).                   The wild card is Russia. They might react rather forcefully to the bombing of the reactor they have built, especially if Russian nationals are killed our wounded in the bombing raid. Russia might decide that the bombing of Russian state property (which the reactor is until it is turned over to Iran) constitutes an attack on Russia.

Albert Pike and Three World Wars

"The Third World War must be fomented by taking advantage of the differences caused by the "agentur" of the "Illuminati" between the political Zionists and the leaders of Islamic World. The war must be conducted in such a way that Islam (the Moslem Arabic World) and political Zionism (the State of Israel) mutually destroy each other. Meanwhile the other nations, once more divided on this issue will be constrained to fight to the point of complete physical, moral, spiritual and economical exhaustion.”         Albert Pike's Background

America's Parallel Legal Systems

The dividing line between criminal and civil standards has withstood more than two centuries of use, but that line is now being undermined by the intrusion of legal standards from parallel legal systems, most particularly the immigration court system which BEING  PART  OF  THE executive (not the judicial) branch of the government, immigration courts do not apply the same legal standards as are applied in federal criminal cases      The Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) system passed by Congress in 1978, set standards for foreign intelligence warrants.    Under FISA, the FBI does not have to show that there is probable cause of criminal activity in order to obtain a warrant to search or surveil a target. It only has to show probable cause that the target is a foreign power or an agent <CITIZEN?> of a foreign power.

The army said the two were blown up by a Palestinian bomb planted to kill soldiers. The corpses offered a different account. In Rafah's morgue, Asma lay with a single bullet hole through her temple; her 13-year-old brother had a lone shot to his forehead. There were no other injuries, certainly none consistent with a blast.

When reporters pressed the issue, the army promised a full investigation, but a few weeks later it was quietly dropped. This has become the norm in a military that appears to value protecting itself from accountability more than living up to its claim to be the "most moral army in the world".

IN  ANOTHER  CASE The teenagers were in a "forbidden zone" kicking a ball. Their corpses showed no evidence of wounds to disable them, only single high-calibre shots to the head or back. The army quietly admitted as much - but there would be no investigation.

            IMMUNITY  FROM  ACCOUNTABILITY

Israeli troops tell of tactics to abuse Palestinians

In public testimonies, the troops alleged the Israeli Defence Force (IDF) routinely carried out "deterrent gunfire" into Palestinian areas without a specific target and also used Palestinian civilians to investigate suspected bombs and as human shields during arrest operations.    The claims, which are beginning to filter into the Israeli media, contrast sharply with government assertions that the Israeli army is a "role model for the world" because of its particularly moral behaviour.

Russian Prosecutors Probe Jewish Law Book for Racism

Lawyers working for the state prosecutor had ordered Rabbi Zinovy Kogan, chairman of the Congress of Jewish Organizations, to explain the contents of the 16th century codification of Jewish law, of paramount importance, the Sulchan Aruch, in order to determine what the code says about non-Jews.

The letter, decried by many Jewish and international groups, called the Jewish religion anti-Christian and inhumane, whose practices extend even to ritual murders. Many facts of such religious extremism were proven in courts, the letter read. It said that many anti-Semitic acts in Russia had been caused by the anti-Christian behavior of Jews or even committed by Jews themselves as grounds to take punitive measures against patriots.

Sorcha Faal:   Crackdown on Massive Israeli Spy Network

According to Russian Intelligence Analysts the FBI has begun a crackdown against US Jews, as part of what is being described by Russian Security Forces as “the largest spying operation ever discovered in America”.    This is alluded to in  Something is bothering the FBI which says ”The FBI has made an effort to talk with wealthy Jews as well, apparently in order to deter them from supporting Rosen financially.”

These increasing hostilities are being reported to the Israeli peoples as we can see as evidenced by the Israeli National News Service in their article titled Is the USA Really Israel's Ally? it says, "The United States of America is not a friend of Israel. The United States demands full control over any arms Israel develops with parts bought from the states. We would do much better without American help."

The FBI are searching for a former Mossad Officer named David E. Lipman to uncover the whereabouts of a Nuclear Weapon smuggled into the United States.  It is said that Lipman is being sought for sexual crimes, but his real crime was related to a number of cross border meetings with the International Arms Dealer Arif Durrani.

Durrani was arrested as was reported Intrigue behind arrest of Pakistani arms dealer in Mexico

Durrani faces an arrest warrant in the U.S. for trafficking in anti-aircraft missiles.   Yet there are other possible scenarios that could clarify the arrest: Durrani was still trafficking in illicit arms; he was organizing a Mexico-based terrorist plot against the U.S.; or he was about to go public with allegations regarding the Iran-Contra affair.     During his residency in Rosarito Beach, Durrani could have been shipping contraband across the border, or even organizing a terrorist plot.

The uncovering of this latest Mossad plot against the United States was due to the CIA’s granting immunity to one of the worlds most wanted terrorists named  Amer Haykel, and who has long been suspected by American Intelligence Agencies of being linked to both the Israeli Mossad and numerous Muslim terrorists organizations  Mexico releases UK man arrested on suspicion of Sept 11 connection  - "'Once it was corroborated that the Briton Amer Haykel does not represent any threat for national security, and is not wanted by authorities in any country, his detention was ended,' the institute said in a statement."

In response to having their agents arrested and exposed, Israel retaliated by pressuring Italy into issuing International Arrest Warrants issued against CIA rendition staff as cited in Italy charges CIA agents which says   "In rare act by ally, officials seek arrests of U.S. agents in kidnapping of imam who allegedly was tortured in Egypt.   Current and retired CIA officers, none of whom agreed to be quoted by name, said they could not remember one of their own having been charged abroad with a crime other than espionage, and certainly not in a country friendly to the U.S.”

Sorcha  Faal:   Chinese Special Forces Troops Arrive In Venezuela

Russian Intelligence Analysts are reporting today the transporting of Chinese Special Forces Troops to Venezuela.    The contingent of Chinese Special Forces, reported to number around 350, contain both Special Reconnaissance (SR) and Counter-Terrorism (CT) troops arrived in Venezuela during the early morning hours of June 24th in an apparent response to Venezuela’s President request to prevent his assassination by American backed agents.

Venezuela Security Forces state the latest assassination plot is being organized by the US from Columbia: Assassination Clues in Venezuela Point to Colombia (June 22)  NOTE THAT FOUR  DAYS  LATER  43 Colombia troops were killed in ambush.

But Chavez is continuing his defiance of these latest American threats to his life, and as he has been quoted as saying, "Venezuela will never again be anyone's colony," said Chavez, a harsh critic of the U.S. government, which he says has exacerbated poverty through "imperialist" policies."   NOTE  ALSO  THAT Venezuela Closes General Motors, Mazda and Renault Plants Over Unpaid Taxes

The difference though between the actions of the Americans against Chile in the 1970’s, and now against Venezuela lies with China.    As the second greatest power in the world today, and actively challenging the United States at the very doorstep, South America, as noted in the testimony before the United States Congress by Peter T.R. Brookes, Senior Fellow for National Security Affairs and Director, Asian Studies Center.   He states "China has invested over $1 billion in petroleum projects in Venezuela and is positioning itself to invest nearly $350 million to extract oil from eastern Venezuelan oil fields. China is also on a military diplomacy offensive across the globe.  China’s presence at Signals Intelligence (SIGINT) facilities in Cuba directed at the United States is long-standing and well known, but China is establishing military ties in Latin America as well.  For example, in 2004, Defense Minister Cao Gangchuan paid a visit to Brazil.   Since the late 1990s, at least one high-level visit has taken place every year to Venezuela.”

The determination of China to protect its vital interests in Venezuela, and elsewhere including the use of military force, was described in  "China on global hunt to quench its thirst for oil" and which says;"From Central Asia to Latin America, Africa, the Middle East and even Canada, Chinese firms are pumping oil and natural gas in many areas that the United States was counting on to meet its own record-high demand.     U.S. officials have been increasingly uneasy as China has signed major deals with Iran, Sudan, Burma and Venezuela, all countries that have strained relations with the United States. China has been wrangling with Japan over natural gas reserves in the East China Sea, and with Vietnam over suspected oil deposits near the Spratly Islands in the South China Sea, setting off worries that such conflicts could turn violent.”

The scramble for energy resources is leading to conflicts which may turn violent as we can see in the growing crisis between Taiwan and Japan, Taiwan sends warship to islands claimed by Japan which says   "Tokyo's worsening relations with its Asian neighbours suffered a further blow yesterday when Taiwan sent a warship to claim jurisdiction over a group of islands claimed by Japan as well as China.   A warship with fifteen senior politicians and sailed for the resource-rich Tiaoyutai Islands in a symbolic show of support for the Japanese Coast Guard."

Canada, Mexico, U.S. release blueprint for tight economic and security ties

"There's been a lot of work done and we are just getting started," Carlos Guiterrez, the U.S. secretary of commerce, said Monday.     Most of the proposed changes are regulatory, not legislative, meaning Parliament won't necessarily get a chance to debate them.    The sheer scope of the plan, released Monday by senior ministers from the three trading partners, defies easy description.      Standardized food-safety regulations, pesticide-residue rules and veterinary drugs are in the mix, as is a flu pandemic plan.    There's to be more sharing of information among law enforcement agencies.     Business leaders who attended the event enthusiastically endorsed the initiative, with the only quibble being that governments may be moving too slowly.

Hearings Suggest Cooperation With U.S. in Sending Arab Canadian Citizen to Syria for Interrogation

Canadian intelligence agents met with Arar's Syrian jailers and exchanged information with Syrian officials about Arar. They also suggested that Canadian diplomats were more anxious to see their own countryman interrogated than released.

Canada's former ambassador to Damascus, Franco Pillarella, who said he did not know Syria used torture in its jails, despite widespread documentation of such practices by international human rights groups.   Most testimony has been taken in 65 sessions that were closed to the public, including Arar.    "With eight months of [private] hearings, and less than two months of public hearings, it's hard for me to tell what's been discussed," complained Arar.

The anti-terrorism unit of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police opened a file on him after observing him with two other men who were already being watched.  On Sep. 26, 2002, Arar said, he was pulled aside by police at New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport as he was changing planes on his way back to Canada after visiting his wife's family in Tunisia.   The State Department, has said he was picked up by U.S. officials "based on information received from Canada."   After 12 days of questioning, he said, he was shackled, flown to Washington and on to Jordan, and then driven to an intelligence prison in Syria.

There, Arar has said, he was confined in a dark cell the size of a coffin for 10 months, beaten with electrical cords and reduced to wretched, weepy state in which he signed false confessions about training in Afghanistan, a place he later said he has never been.

All three TORTURE  VICTIMS were the focus of investigations by Canadian intelligence agents, and each has claimed that Syrian interrogators asked questions that could have come only from Canadian investigators, according to Alex Neve, the head of Amnesty International's office in Canada.

Wesley Wark, a security specialist at the University of Toronto, said the country's intelligence agencies are "fearful they will be hung out to dry for doing what they were told to do" by the government after Sept. 11, 2001.   He said they were also worried that the inquiry would lead to restrictions on Canada's intelligence operations and that the government might even "try to build some human rights context into intelligence sharing. They can't see any benefit in this inquiry," he said.

Written language of the Maya shocks scientists with its brutality

It has been scientifically proved that America's ancient inhabitants, the Maya, used to wrap the deceased in caoutchouc and evaporate the mummies in humid tropical jungle, like in a sauna.    The use of caoutchouc as a substance to embalm mummies indicates the Egyptian tradition;    Hieroglyphic texts were made during the so-called classic period of the Maya epoch, between 250 and 900 years A.D. The Maya deserted their large cities after that period, and their civilization mysteriously perished.

Mystery QRM Signals in Australia:

In Australia two very strong pulse signals are appearing on HF amateur bands and the hunt is on to determine the source of these intruders.      It's an unwelcome reminder of the havoc caused by the over-the-horizon radar dubbed the Russian Woodpecker that fired up in 1976 and lasted a decade. Hopefully this latest pulse signal is not another OTHR.
