Signs of Our Times by Michael Rectenwald
"While
the claims and charges against our governments are not all
necessarily accurate, the belief in betrayal is indicative of
real disease. The signs indicate that the current regimes are
deadly. The leaders who call for 'freedom' pose the greatest
danger to it. Anyone who has looked beyond his or her own
solipsistic, spoon-fed, corporate-mediated horizon can see this
as plain as day...The point is, as purveyors of culture,...our
evolutionary survival is largely in our own hands. We can select
for our own survival! But we must purvey the cultural memes that
will guarantee it."

A
new provision added by Republicans applies the federal death

FRIEND COMMENTS: It is
important to note that the federal death penalty can now be
applied to those 'terrorist offences that result in death".
That could apply to anyone associated with a person

was an unknowing association. This gives the users of this
law very wide flexibility, and, as demonstrated in

The
number of people infected by what Chinese authorities believe is
a pig-borne bacterial disease in the southwest has jumped by 14

layman's terms as swine flu, is endemic in swine in most
pig-rearing countries in the world but human infections are
rare.
World
Health Organisation said it was localised and posed no threat
internationally, but the fact that this is much larger than
anything else historically makes us wonder just why that is."
The unusually high mortality rate and reports that many of
the victims died within 24 hours of showing symptoms have

BUT..
The Politics of Pandemic
Both Promedmail.org and Recombinomics.com suggest that the
reported symptoms, the widespread geography of those affected,
the speed at which the disease has spread, and the past sporadic
(as opposed to outbreak) incidence of Streptococcus
suis, all point the finger another, more likely viral, cause.

Fatality Rate for Mystery Sichuan Pig-Flu: 82%
As
of July 26/05: 117 reported; 5 confirmed by test; 71
confirmed by symptom; 41 suspected; 5 discharged;
21 critical; 24 died.
That
means: 29 outcomes with 24 deaths = 82% mortality, (not
including the 14 suspect cases who died before admission.) Note that only 5 of the
117 cases tested positive for this common pig bacteria, which
does not cause disease in healthy pigs (but may cause problems if
stressed or infected with another agent.) The high case fatality rate suggests the
humans who disposed of the pigs were infected by the primary
infection in the pig, not by a bacterial infection.
Rates that high have been
described for Ebola and Marburg outbreaks in Africa, the H5N1
rate for Vietnam and Thailand, or the early Boxun reports
of the Qinghai Lake outbreak.
Although
some Boxun reports have suggested Ebola,
Thus,
the sudden increase of 37 patients reported above, the widespread
distribution of cases in at least 75 villages, the high case
fatality rate, and the neurological symptoms,
all point toward H5N1 involvement in the expanding outbreak.
Mysterious Illness Spreads In Sichuan China
The high mortality (19 of the 23
outcomes have been death) decreases the likelihood of bacterial
infections, which are rare in humans.
Although the pigs may have a bacterial infection, that doesn't
mean that the pig / person is not infected with a virus.
Although Boxun reports have focused on Ebola, the timing and location of
this outbreak continue to raise suspicions about H5N1
bird flu migrating to or
from Qinghai Lake.
